Old Saint David’s

Old Saint David’s is a very old Episcopal church, and like a lot of very old places, is rumored to have a ghost. The graveyard beside the church is large with lots of old trees shading the graves.

Major General Anthony Wayne is buried here. Or at least part of him is buried here. Yes, “Mad Anthony” is actually buried in two places. According to legend, Anthony is still looking for the rest of his remains and so he wanders about the countryside looking for them.

There is another interesting Wayne grave here at Old Saint David’s. His great-grandson’s wife, Hannah Wayne, is also buried here. She is the one said to haunt the Wayne family home at Waynesborough.
